STEPS TO A SCHOOL CHOICE

Steps to a School Choice is sponsored by the New York Counseling Association (NYCA). It is designed for seniors and it is sent to high schools who request copies from the New York Counseling Association. The manual is a 60 page bound tabloid and is formatted in a scripto-graphic style that provides students and parents summary information with an emphasis on illustration and demonstration. Designed in a self-directed format, it can be used by the students and parents alone or presented in groups in school settings. In September 2008, 100,000 copies had been requested by almost 700 high schools throughout New York State . It was sent to the schools via FedEx. In October, Steps to a School Choice was chosen as the 2002 Outstanding Publication by NYCA.

It will again be offered free of charge to high schools for the graduating class of 2009. Survey correspondence to request copies will be sent by the New York Counseling Association in May 2008.  For more information or to request copies, call or NYCA at 518-877-692-2462 or Lou Brunelli at 914-739-2313.  You may also order copies of Steps to a School Choice by clicking the link below, printing the order form, and faxing it to the NYCA Central Office at (518)235-0910.
